Job Description

IT System Administor II (Engineering) manages the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of IT Infrastructure applications. Manages the daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and completing system upgrades and patching.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following: Manage the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of IT Infrastructure applications. Oversee system performance and troubleshooting issues. Create a backup and safeguarding the data if there are any hindrances. Perform system upgrades following new releases. Sustain network integrity, server deployment, and security. Monitor and maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways and intrusion detection systems. Ensure high-level security and efficiency resulting in 100% output. Review requests for changes to assigned applications and work with requestors to provide the most proficient solution. Once approved, implement the requested changes. Manage the daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Ability to execute special projects, must be able to work independently and interact with others within IT and the business to ensure timely, complete and effective execution of duties. Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the application infrastructure; Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks and identify approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale. Plan and execute minor projects, upgrades, patching and change requests. Ability to communicate and work with manager, vendors, employees, contractors and customers. User training, problem solving and general assistance. Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures. Able to support 24/7 on-call. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required : At least two years of IT Operations or Technical Application Support experience. At least one year of technical troubleshooting, desktop support, imaging, and exchange. Knowledge in computer systems, mobile devices, and other technology products. Basic knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery procedures. Good understanding of permissions and user management. Bachelors of Science from four-year College or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to interpret standard operating procedures and work instructions. Highly motivated, dependable, productive and disciplined team player who is a continuous learner. Possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Nevada gaming card Polished appearance and demeanor. Excellent customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English. Ability to successfully lead and mentor a team. Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules policies, procedures and state & federal regulatory requirements. At least 21 years of age.

Preferred : A strong technical aptitude and desire to learn as a member of a mature high performing team. Knowledge of how to perform administration of standard casino/resort suite of applications.

Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, employees and guests is necessary. Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Bending and reaching. Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 25 lbs. Eye/hand coordination. Use of standard office equipment. Basic math. Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 5 lbs. The ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
