Omron Automation - Americas is looking for an energetic and focused Field Application Engineer in the upper Midwest area to support and train the sales of all Omron’s Advanced Sensing products related accessories in the territory and USA. The primary goal is to support the growth of sales with new customers and maintain the growth with our existing customers, while achieving your objectives.
Responsibilities: Increase Omron sales via engineering support related to fundamental knowledge of the entire portfolio of products and applications related to Auto ID, Machine Vision, RFID, and Laser Markers. Perform customer Proof Of Concepts based on specific application requirements Train Customers and Partners on key technical advantages of Omron portfolio. Build and leverage strong customer and partner relationships with existing accounts Understand customer organizations by department, function, strategies, and key programs Master the key features and benefits of the Advanced Sensing products (Vision Systems, Code Readers, Verifiers, RFID, Industrial Cameras, Smart Cameras, and Measurement Sensors). Demonstrate basic operation and key differentiators of our products Effectively utilize Omron resources including applications engineers, distribution partners, integrators, and customer service representatives Complete assigned reporting activities in a timely manner. Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner. Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleagues.
Requirements: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a Technical Degree equivalent/greater Five (5) years of experience in application engineering of industrial automation or similar products. Technical experience with some or all of the following products: Machine Vision Systems, Motion Control (Servos, Drives, Controllers and Motors), PLC/HMI (hardware, software and interfaces), Components (Sensors, Relays and Switches), Safety (Light Curtains, Controllers, Sensors and E-Stops) and Auto ID (Barcode and RFID) and Robotics. Code Reading/Vision System experience preferred, but not required Knowledge of Optics preferred, but not required Experience with computers, CRM, e-mail and Microsoft Office programs 40% of your time spent traveling outside the office Energetic, aggressive, focused and a highly motivated self-starter. Strong relationship builder and a strong personal desire to win. Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally with strong organizational skills. Team player mentality but able to work independently as required. Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (written and oral).
