Job Description

For over 30 years, New Season Treatment Centers have been a leading national health care service provider of outpatient treatment centers that specialize in providing safe, quality and best in class care for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder ("OUD").

 

Operating in over 70 treatment centers in multiple states, our team members are engaged in medication-assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management of individuals living with OUD. We treat the whole person and, in so doing, address the underlying causes of OUD in an effort to provide a continuum of care that not only addresses treatment needs but supports the patient on their journey to recovery.

 

 

Job Summary:

The Clinical Compliance Auditor monitors and evaluates the documentation, charts, forms, clinical practices, and regulatory requirements for New Season. This position plans and conducts monitoring, auditing, and assesses compliance with applicable regulations, including, but not limited to Medicaid and other Third Party documentation and billing practices. This position provides feedback, education, and training on the results of auditing and monitors. The individual is also responsible for carrying out the requirements and elements of an effective compliance program and enforcing HIPAA Privacy requirements. The auditor is responsible for identifying risks and trends and supporting the organization operationally in developing efficient and effective internal controls.

 

Essential Functions:

➢ Conduct remote clinical chart audits, document and communicate findings and recommendations via feedback calls, explain requirements, and oversee the corrective action process.

➢ Conduct on-site audits which include: clinical observations, HIPAA compliance, education/supervision, reporting findings verbally and in writing, and developing a structured format for follow up and monitoring of corrective action plans in conjunction with the operational leadership team.

➢ Monitor and trend activity to assist in the development and presentation of compliance training programs.

➢ Assist in the planning and execution of audit projects from beginning to end.

➢ Utilizing a complete understanding of the audit process, circumstances, and risk, prepare sound audit conclusion reports for use in improving documentation.

➢ Prepare clear, concise audit findings and reports.

➢ Ensure adherence at all times to all applicable department and professional standards, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Privacy & Security requirements.

➢ Prepare accurate responses to questions regarding the audit findings and report.

➢ Assist in carrying out functions of the Compliance Program.

➢ Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

➢ Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  Education/Licensure/Certification: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, Psychology, or other Human Services field required. Licensure in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, or other Human Services field is required. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) or other organizations with emphasis in compliance is preferred. Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) designation from The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or other organizations with emphasis on auditing is preferred. Required Knowledge: Understanding of compliance documentation and billing for healthcare providers, as well as applicable Medicaid and other Third Party requirements and other legal regulations. Knowledge of computer and internet applications, data management, and an understanding of reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft and Google products. Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years counseling experience with preferred experience in substance abuse treatment And; Minimum of 1-year auditing experience in the healthcare industry. Demonstrated experience utilizing electronic spreadsheets such as Google Sheet or Excel. Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence, and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive compliance issues.
