Job Description

Supervision Received/Exercised: Reports to Vice President of Continuous Improvement



Job Summary:

The Maintenance Excellence Director will be developing, implementing and leading all facets of the companies Maintenance Excellence program. This will include c oordinating the development of the Maintenance Excellence roadmap , tracking progress against the plan and lead issue cause solution if the plan if off-track to adjust the plan. As a leader, you will develop a Maintenance Excellence Team and together will create training and build capability for the organization to increase equipment effectiveness through reliability and operational efficiency improvements.

 

Job Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

Lead the development & execution of the Maintenance Excellence roadmap and oversee progress and issue cause resolution against the plan

Create and implement enterprise plant reliability for long-term production optimization while continuously reducing cost through improved equipment operation, maintenance and upgrades

Develop systems to keep the organization energized to move through the Maintenance Excellence Journey

Champion and execute change initiatives to the pursuit of Maintenance Excellence.

Provide leadership for all maintenance/reliability activities focused on improving the performance of the organization.  

Create and implement daily maintenance effectiveness metrics to identify opportunities for root cause resolution and prevention action of issues.

Develop and conduct an audit system to ensure progress towards goals

Standardize use of a CMMS system/s

Continuously improve the processes around the enterprises plant PM system so that it is optimally effective in helping to reduce unplanned downtime and maximize productivity and minimize cost.

Coach Maintenance Excellence methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the enterprise.

Assess and d evelop gap analysis when needed to drive financial return.

Share in best practices across the company.

Ensure the plants implement and maintain the Hearthside Performance System (HPS) in all areas by performing regular audits.

Responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time.

Responsible for maintaining all documentation related to production tools in the automated tool box.

May be required to work off shifts and/or weekends as needed

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.

Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law.

Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel required 50% of the time.

 

Required Competencies & Knowledge:

Knowledge of:

Mechanical – knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance

Knowledge of predictive technologies

Manufacturing operations, scheduling, products, and production processes

Knowledge and experience with SAP

Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing

 

Skill in:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong self-confidence.

Strong will to drive change.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy.

Must be accurate, detail-oriented and maintain the utmost confidentiality.

Ability to:

Ability to effectively present information to employees, top management, public groups and/or board of directors.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.

Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.

Excellent keyboarding, record keeping and follow-up skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while at the same time making sound decisions.

Ability to train at all levels of education

 

Proficiency in :    MS Office Suite, Excel, SAP, and PPT

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or related field required.

10 (ten) plus years’ experience in manufacturing required, food strongly preferred.

Prior multi-level site responsibly required.

Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and SQF a plus.

Food experience strongly preferred
