We are seeking to hire an Employee Relations Specialist to support our Specality Materials business in Monroe, NC. This position will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes safety, quality and continuous improvement.
The primary purpose of this job is to support Human Resources practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes safety, quality and continuous improvement. This role will be responsible for the administration of HR policies, procedures and programs for their designated customer group and/or location. The role will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, communications, leave support, and employee performance.
As a an Employee relations specialist, you will perform task supporting FMLA reporting, performance review processes and submissions, provide benefits support, investigation support for potential breaches of human resources policies, and support the business administratively for human resources related functions.
A successful Employee Relations Specialist will quickly grasp ATI’s human resources processes and business culture, be attentive and detail oriented, work collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders, and possess a continuous improvement mindset.
Additional Responsibilites
Interpret and apply understanding of ATI policies, programs and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification to both employees and leadersSupport employee issues related to payroll, benefits, employment opportunities, and other personnel concerns Recommend and administer employee relations practices necessary to build and maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation Lead efforts & content with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, employee handbook, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, employee focus groups, and one-on-one meetings. Participates in the conducting and documentation of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth or necessary employee disciplinary actions Support engagement activities which promote and build ATI’s culture, such as conducting exit interviews and providing feedback on potential improvement opportunities when issues are identified Support employee leave requests and audits Work with hourly leadership to provide guidance and review of hourly performance evaluations Research and maintain current knowledge of HR concepts, practices, procedures as well as legal updates associated with HR and Employee Relations Support other HR functions as needed including special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications Business management experience Knowledge of core human resources concepts PHR/SHRM Certification
Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs HR Systems experience a plus Effective interpersonal and communication skills Exemplary customer service skills Project management and organization skills Knoweledge of FMLA guidelines and federal/state employment laws
