Job Description

Requirements: Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start Engineer will possess a CASP or CISSP certification At least 14 years job experience in a related field BA/BS degree or equivalent proven experience Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language. Current knowledge of IT requirements analysis, including capacity planning and interface integration. Breadth of knowledge will include hypervisors, blade servers, converged and hyper-converged hardware platforms, virtual desktop software, etc. Engineer will be fully versed with Windows Server and supporting technologies, such as AD, SCCM, SCOM, clustering, PC over Internet Protocol, RDP, and preferably with VMware Horizon  etc. Experience and senior level knowledge for DoD M365, MS Teams, and Purebred Previous experience with multi-site, multi-vendor enterprise IT architecture. Engineer will document and socialize network design and design considerations to a change-management team

What will you be doing?

 

The selected candidate will work to develop new solutions within USACE for the Microsoft endpoints. The candidate will work on endpoint engineering projects related to revolutionizing the USACE infrastructure. This position will define project scope and objectives and develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, status reports and project deliverables for systems related engineering requests. Provides technical and analytical guidance to enterprise operations. Collaborates with and assists engineering team members on other engineering projects and tasks. Participates in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. 

 

 

Responsibilities: Engineering and design for the Microsoft Endpoint Systems (Active Directory, Email, System Images, MS Teams, SCCM, MDM) Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors Work independently, including the self-management of projects. Help others and ask for help without hesitation. Ensure timely delivery of all Engineering Service Requests, removing any obstacles to completing work as scheduled Perform risk analysis of each Engineering Service Request, and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks Provide technical guidance and leadership of all systems software, hardware, and infrastructure used in the Corps of Engineers’ environment, which includes, in part, products by Microsoft (Operating Systems, Applications, Active Directory), MDM, SCCM, MS Teams and the integration of new technology products within the Corps of Engineers’ environment Provide guidance to enterprise operations on technical solutions and provide Tier 4 support Drive the Technology Refresh Plan and roadmap development, and the Capacity and Demand Management Plan for the environment’s Operating System, Compute, and Storage areas, in accordance with the Technology Target Architecture, and in collaboration with the Government Architecture and Engineering teams, Enterprise Operations team, and fellow contractor engineers Perform detailed market research, develop Bills of Materials for Government consumption Design new implementations of systems resources (Operating Systems, Compute, Cloud, and Storage), and after Information Assurance review, coordinate the installation of them with the DevOps Engineer, Enterprise Operations, and relevant stakeholders Document Systems architecture, including how systems will interoperate, and design choices of any associated applications (Low Level Design, High Level Design) Integrate Systems into the enterprise Configuration Management Database Automate facets of the Microsoft and overall endpoint infrastructure within the USACE environment, including deployment, SSL certificate monitoring/requests, patching and system upgrades in coordination with DevOps Engineers Provide secure, reliable, and high performing configurations of the Systems environments Other duties as assigned
