Job Description

We are a leading food and agri-business, supplying food ingredients, feed, and fiber to over 19,800 customers who range from multi-national, world famous brands to small family run businesses.

Established in 1989, and now listed on the Singapore Exchange, our team of 74,500 full-time, seasonal, and contract employees have built leadership positions in many of our businesses such as Cocoa, Coffee, Cotton, Edible Nuts and Spices.

 

As well as growing crops in our own orchards and estates, and sourcing from around 4.8 million farmers globally, we operate over 160 processing facilities, and through our 14 innovation centers. We develop ingredients and find solutions for our customers. Our value chain spans over 60 countries. We also provide support services including risk management solutions and agri-logistics. 

 

Olam Food Ingredients ( OFI ) is a new entity born out of Olam International . In a re-organization announced in January of this year, OFI builds on the 30-year history of Olam and is planned for a carve out and potential IPO in 2021. OFI offers sustainable, natural, value-added food products and ingredients so that consumers can enjoy the healthy and indulgent products they love. It consists of Olam’s industry-leading businesses of Cocoa, Coffee, Edible Nuts, Spices and Dairy. OFI has built a unique global value chain presence including its own farms, farm-gate origination and manufacturing facilities. OFI partners with customers, leveraging its complementary & differentiated portfolio of “on-trend” food products, to co-create solutions that anticipate and meet changing consumer preferences as demand increases for healthier food that’s traceable & sustainable.

 

 

Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Head of US Marketing, the Global Marketing Director will drive marketing excellence, customer engagement and communication, with a focus on our Spices business. Collaborating with sales and business leaders across the world in the designated Business Unit, the Global Marketing Director will work closely with colleagues in the OFI Marketing, communications and internal teams to develop strategies, tactics and ensure timely execution. This role will contribute to global business growth, increased visibility and recognition for the brand and its defining pillars. In addition, they will be responsible for aligning and engaging the internal Spices team.

 

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic. This is a demanding role with high expectations. They must be confident and able to be assertive with senior stakeholders. The candidate will be capable of thinking strategically, while able to manage multiple hands-on tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. They should be creative problem-solver with a growth mindset with the ability to finding ways to simplify processes and improve performance. Embodies a flexible mindset, keen to work in an entrepreneurial environment, able to travel, and content to deal with most key stakeholders remotely across global time zones is required to be successful in this role. The candidate should be savvy in using data to deliver a positive Return of Investment (ROI), making decisions based on analytics and data to drive marketing efficiencies, effectiveness and collaboration.

 

Position Responsibilities Develop and execute business unit global marketing strategy for Spices by collaborating with key stakeholders and OFI Marketing & Comms team. Oversee the Annual Marketing Planning initiative by utilizing launch calendar, sales push planning, industry & category events, consumer insights, and content opportunities. Manage customer segmentation, campaign development, management, and reporting utilizing digital, social, SEO/SEA, and analytics. Develop social media strategy and content plan as an integral and logical part of the OFI social media strategy. Direct the development and execution of customer marketing assets. Close collaboration with innovation and sales teams to surface insights to develop customer R&D projects and aid with the sell-in. Interact with the OFI Public Relation (PR) team to help identify and empower them to seize marketing PR opportunities and surface risk areas and reputational threats. Deliver business unit-related input for OFI Annual Report or other consolidated publications. Contribute and communicate the overall Customer Marketing Strategy of OFI. Deliver important communication to business unit employees to engage the teams around the marketing activities, as well as to source content needed. Manage and execute one-off Marketing Excellence projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements

  Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field is required. Ten (10) years of marketing experience including B2B is required. Marketing experience working in the food industry is preferred. A successful track record working across the marketing mix is required. Must have a creative flair, including leading creative content campaigns across multiple markets. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Proven ability to manage multiple projects under pressure is required. Experience managing a marketing budget with a key focus on impact and ROI is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook is required.
