Essential Job Functions : Meets and greets customers promptly, courteously, and graciously, addressing customers by name whenever possible. Learns the locals’ names and recognize them when they come to the restaurant. Escorts customers to tables and provides menus. Arranges parties or special services for customers. Answers phones; manages reservations and notes in Open Table; takes to-go orders, receives payment and brings food to customers when they arrive. Maintains a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients, and daily specials. Manages the door; maintains wait list, as appropriate; informs customers of approximate wait time and where they can wait for a table; informs customers when their table is prepared. Manages customer complaints and dissatisfaction in a prompt and professional manner; determines necessary adjustments; informs manager of complaint and resolution. Anticipates customer’s needs by constantly scanning the room. Responds properly in any dining room emergency or safety situation. Monitors dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness. Inspects menus and lists to ensure their condition and appearance. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualification: Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent. One or more years of experience working in a customer service role. Must be available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays. Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
Physical and Mental Demands: Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to communicate verbally with other kitchen staff in fast-paced environment. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Regularly required to stoop or kneel and stand for long periods of time.
