Job Description

Position Summary: Reporting to Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be part of the Logistics Edible Nuts team and will facilitate communication between production, sales and distribution stages to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain. Will be responsible for the coordinating of transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.

 

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.


Position Responsibilities : Initiate and coordinate shipments from the three Hughson Nut Almond processing facilities in California. Liaison with customers for shipping instructions (SI's) & Purchase Orders (POs) and communicate that information with the production department. Prepare customs entries and inbound/outbound delivery order. Arrange releases with warehouses for delivery to customers. Create delivery orders, invoices, and full shipment dockets for release to the customer. Track shipments and provide updates to the sales team and manager. Liaison with the third-party warehouses for product entry, storage, and delivery. Reduce the direct costs of logistics by choosing the ideal third-party service providers. Handle customer claims for shortages or losses. Follow up on past dues/payments from customers. Conduct special projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements: College Graduate preferred with good communication skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Three (3) years previous work experience in Customer Service, freight and/or logistics industry is required. Working knowledge of INCOTERM, ECC, and GCA is preferred. Proven ability to multitask with close attention to detail is required. Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft office is required. Conduct special projects which may be assigned by the manager from time to time.
