Essential Job Functions: Develops the mechanical design and part detailing of Van Life Manages and coordinates the design and release to production of products, which meet RVIA credentials Ensures design models and drawings meet the established design intent Perform engineering calculations and solutions Take a concept idea and make it come to life. Gather and report test data Design and development specialized test equipment as needed Some experience of mechanical engineering in the automotive industry Strong ability to work in a research and development team and think outside the box Practical Automotive knowledge; hands on work with vehicles. CAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks knowledge Read and understand welding code Have a basic knowledge of hand, or air tools, and measuring devices. Display good work ethics and cooperation with management and peers. Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Act as a liaison Mechanical Engineer and coordinate with Service techs and for concept design through final design requirements; including all design review/changes and feasibility reviews Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translate these into mechanical designs Understand design and manufacturing of electronics control modules and components Support OEM development stage events based on product development timing Support electronic product design and development and original equipment manufacturer automotive subsystems Perform Root Cause Analysis Control and support Mechanical Engineering data/documents delivery between original equipment manufacturer
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field Experience with Automotive mechanical functions, Automotive systems 5-7 years of experience in a design setting. Ensures design models and drawings meet the established design intent Experience in computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, Creo, Cadkey, etc. Demonstrable proficiency in 3D CAD software is needed. Creative thinker with a detail-oriented personality. Perform engineering calculations and solutions Strong team player and ability to work independently with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
