The Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goals. Assessed and provides emergency medical care to both adult and pediatric patient populations, including patients of sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and domestic violence and prepares evidence collection kits and stores as appropriate.
* Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities. * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities -- Highly Preferred * One (1) year acute care experience * New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse * Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) * Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
