Job Description

In a general orthopedic setting, the Physical Therapist will provide evaluation and treatment services to a variety of patients in accordance with the physician referral and Plan of Care. They direct patient participation in activities and exercise programs to restore, reinforce and enhance performance, while performing exceptional patient care. To encourage a collaborative approach to patient care, Physical Therapists have the freedom to evaluate and treat, while being in close proximity to physicians. We also provide a new graduate mentoring program and multiple certification programs, including dry needling!

 

Primary Functions & Accountabilities Consults with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms Diagnoses movement dysfunction and develops a treatment plan Teaches patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques Assists patients with the use of equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers Maintains patient records and documents goals and progress Schedules patients effectively for best time utilization Interprets and organizes evaluation and assessment data Utilizes knowledge of patient's diagnosis, signs, and symptoms presented and results of diagnostic studies to determine the patient's level of function Sets priorities and establishes realistic short-term goals and long-term outcomes Documents and maintains a plan of care for each patient which includes specific physical therapy orders in coordination with the medical plan of care Communicates the plan of care in formal and informal communication Appropriately utilizes the capabilities of personnel in assignment of self and team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to provide instructions clearly and pay close attention to detail Must be able to collaborate with other patient care team members Ability to remain encouraging and motivating to patients who experience pain and frustration, physical therapists should be compassionate and encouraging Ability to remain flexible, adaptable and calm in unexpected situations Ability to exercise sound judgment in stressful circumstances

Position Requirements BS, MS or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited school Orthopedic practice experience preferred Current Physical Therapist license and current CPR required
