The Pre-employment Services Instructor is responsible for providing direct care to clients as outlined in a daily schedule. Support given will follow specific goals and objectives of each client. This individual may work alone or in a group setting.

Duties: Provides support and supervision to assigned individuals/groups while adhering to agency policies and procedures. Evaluates Individualized Service Plan outcomes and objectives and implement appropriate goals and teaching strategies based on assessments. Teaches individualized service action plan in accordance to client's individualized learning style and goals and provides feedback to client. Follows teaching plans to reduce support needs of clients. Creates and sustains teaching environments that value continuous growth and development promoting client creativity, self-reliance, competence and proficiency. Maintains daily and monthly paperwork neatly and accurately; paperwork must be turned in according to deadlines given. Completes accurate log notes, data collections and monthly progress reports which reflect progress on plan goals. Maintains professional relationship with individuals, families, business and community members, caretakers and Easter Seals Midwest staff. Maintains current certifications on Annual Recertification, Mandt, autism specific training, and other trainings as required.

A successful candidate will possess: Good verbal and written communication skills and desire to provide direct support to clients with developmental disabilities in volunteer sites in the community. Firsthand knowledge of disabilities (use of person first language, etc.), support services and community resources. Must present professionalism especially with volunteer site staff and managers. Must be flexible, reliable, and dependable and embrace change.

Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required. College credit in human service or related field preferred. Experience: Some experience in providing direct support to clients with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavior disorders preferred. Other Skills: Maintains safe driving record, Missouri Class E or Illinois license, and current vehicle insurance. Must have reliable, working vehicle with sufficient fuel at all times.
