The responsibility of the Pricing Analyst is to provide data gathering, analysis, consultation, and recommendations in support of Watsco, Inc and its subsidiary business units.
Qualifications and Competencies: Demonstrates knowledge and experience with pricing processes, systems, and controls Shows bias for action and results; resists “analysis paralysis” Prepares, extracts, and employs data and information from multiple internal and external sources and leverage to develop and execute pricing strategies Develops and implements pricing performance indicators and diagnostics to identify potential pricing opportunities, measure impact of pricing decisions, and track performance of pricing initiatives Works to develop new reporting and analysis in the best platform for easy repeatability and administration; leveraging pricing software platform Demonstrates experience with large data analysis and development of recommendations from analysis Leads and/or participates in projects to identify, evaluate, recommend and execute margin improvement plans based on review of price, volume, share and mix trends by customer or business segment Conducts detailed analysis on the price gain by customer, region, product category, etc. versus planned levels. Ensures price change opportunities are identified, communicated, and executed efficiently in accordance with business unit strategies and policies Provides pricing support for business unit initiatives including promotions, slow-move product movement, and business growth attainment Understands cost structures and profitability drivers for the overall business and in relevant markets
Background and Experience: BA or BS required in Business; Finance preferred, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics or related Professional Pricing Society membership/experience a plus Experience in B2B distribution pricing with large and diverse SKU counts preferred A minimum of two years of professional experience in a relevant discipline required Must demonstrate command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook necessary, Access strongly preferred) Experience with pricing software preferred (Pricefx, PROS, Vendavo, or Zilliant) Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills Must demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
