Job Description

Primary Purpose

Develop, modify, and integrate business applications and programs. Partner with Business clients and/or Project Management personnel to collect requirements, test/debug programs, and maintain/support deployed applications. Direct and work with internal IT staff to code/develop solutions, configure interfaces/hardware, document application specifications/manuals, and adhere to internal development processes and application lifecycle guidelines. Provide technical leadership and guidance to Business Solutions Developer/Associates.

 

Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical expertise and leadership in programming design/tools while working with enterprise architecture, application, infrastructure, and security teams to recommend/deliver solutions. Design, code, customize, test, and deploy sophisticated computer programs to support or enhance business solutions and application interfaces. Implement, integrate, and configure third-party applications, database, and services both on and off premise. Driven to adopt new computer software/hardware languages/technologies to optimize/improve existing solutions. Develop/maintain partnerships with the business and internal clients for alignment with organizational strategies. Communicate with all levels of management and end users during analysis, development, testing, and operational phases including status updates, issue identification, and approval requirements. Provide primary and/or secondary post-implementation support activities for systems/applications as required including after-hours assistance and communication. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related business/technical field is required. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience A minimum of 10+ years of related experience in designing and supporting software applications is required.

Skills and Abilities Excellent technical skills with emphasis on Microsoft based technologies to include most (but not necessarily all) – database modeling / design (Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, Views, SSRS), development frameworks and methodologies (.NET, ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, MVC, HTML, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, Style Sheets, XML and XSD, IIS, JSP, Object Oriented Design, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), Software support tools (Visual Studio, SQL Server Enterprise Manager), Application integration frameworks (BizTalk, Web Services, Microsoft SSIS), Software Testing and Configuration Management tools and techniques. Solid technical expertise of all phases of application programming activities (analysis, design, testing, deployment). Expertise with SDLC methodologies (Waterfall and Agile) and formal organizational change procedures. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in high stress situations and complex environments. Excellent organizational skills and diligent while having the ability to handle various tasks concurrently. Provide work direction, guidance, and training to less experienced programmers. Ability to coordinate disparate resources, working well in a team environment or as an independent contributor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including technical specifications and user manuals).
