Summary: Supervises all activities related to the day-to-day ope rational activities of the Sports Book department .
Essential Job Functions: Assist Sports Book Manager in overseeing all Sports Book operations. Assist in creating and implementing policies and programs that support the achievement of property and company financial and operational goals and strategic initiatives. Assist Sports Book Manager in monitoring and making recommendations of Sports Book risk and liability, leading up to and during sporting events. Assists in the s et up and post ing of all sporting events. Communicates and explains wagering to new guests. On an as needed basis, responsible for placing tickets, verifying and/or processing winning tickets. Resolves complaints and manages difficult guest concerns. Supervises responsibilitie s of Sports Book Writers. Develops processes to consistently train and develop Team Members to improve their skill set and provide continuous improvement in guest service. Assist Sports Book Manager in working closely with the marketing department to administer marketing programs and special promotions according to program specifications. Investigates if a Sports Book guest is wagering in an unethical or irregular manner or if a Sports Book team member is working in an unethical or irregular manner and report the findings appropriately. Supervises and directs daily labor to business volumes. Ensure Sports Book area is clean and that the equipment is in proper working condition daily. Ensures compliance with regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal laws and the New York State Gaming Commission regulations. Hires, trains and manages staff in accordance with organizational and approved departmental standards, policies and programs. Approves all Sports Book over-the-limit wagers for the property within guidelines. Close out Sports Book Writers at end of the shift and ensure money has been transferred to the main Cage. Manages R1SE observations to ensure quality, completeness and accuracy. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent. One or more years in sports betting, gaming or related field. Must have one or more years of supervisory experience. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Minimum of one year prior cashiering/money handling experience preferred. Proven leadership skills that include delegating as needed. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate with team members and guests. Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays. New York State Gaming License required. Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
Physical and Mental Demands: Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment
