Job Description

Strategic Account Manager/Logistics

Omron Electronics LLC is looking for an energetic and focused Strategic Account Manager to drive specifications, develop long-term profitable relationships and implement sales initiatives for Omron at a select group of customers in the Logistics and Warehousing market.

This position can based near Atlanta, Georgia, Boston, Massachusetts, Chicago, Illinois, Cincinnati, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Indianapolis, Indiana, Memphis, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Logistics/Warehouse Automation and be located in the eastern half of the US.

 

Responsibilities : Drive specifications at the corporate level for industrial automation products -- with emphasis on Omron application solutions and strategic product families. Achieve placement on customer Approved Vendor Lists. Decipher target customer organizational structure, key decision makers, and buying process/behaviors. Insure that this information is used to the maximum extent and communicated to management and to the appropriate sales leaders throughout the company. Develop key contacts at customer sites/plants at select End User/OEM/System Integrator accounts. Work with local/regional teams to develop preference for and credibility of Omron with these contacts. Intimately understand the processes used and issues faced at target customers. Work with other Strategic Sales and Engineering Team members to define specific customer product and solution requirements. Insure that the information and resources are used to penetrate the target account(s) and increase Omron's presence. Bring in Strategic and Technology Sales and Engineering resources to help identify Key Applications that can be replicated across customer sites, and across the broader industry. Maintain certified knowledge in all major product categories. Develop customer value propositions and ROIs that are competitive or better than the competition in the customer's view. Understand target customer product trends and specifications and communicate requirements to Strategic Sales team, Product Marketing and Product Development. Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner. Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, distributors, and colleagues.

 

Requirements: Four (4) years Engineering Degree ( BSEE, BSME) or two (2) years Technical School Degree with equivalent years of technical or military experience. Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated application solutions sales experience with end user, OEM or System Integrator customers. Sales experience with some or all of the following applications is a plus: PLC hardware, software and interfaces, Motion Control Systems, Robotics, Machine vision systems, Advanced smart sensors (optical, proximity), 2D Code Readers, Optical Recognition and RFID products Applied knowledge and selling experience in industrial automation environment with particular emphasis on material handling systems, machine vision, smart sensors, data collection, control and communication at production and asset management level. Proven history of consistent sales success. Ability to excel within a 'high velocity' selling model. Ability to travel (up to 40%).
