Spirent Positioning Technology designs, manufactures, and supplies advanced satellite navigation test and simulation systems, many of which comprise radio frequency signal generators and computer systems running complex application software; all designed in-house. These systems are sold all over the world to high-profile organizations.
The successful candidate will join the strategic initiatives team, formulating and nurturing initiatives that become top agenda items for our business in the future. It takes basic understanding of finance, data-science, management, and technical know-how to succeed in the environment. Strategic insight is imperative, but results are what we are after. This position will report into the Director of Strategic Marketing.
The role will be primarily working from home/remote working, with occasional visits to Spirent's San Jose, CA office location and customer site locations, particularly in the US, as well as global.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant or closely related engineering/technology discipline, with Master's degree preferred. 5+ year's related experience in a high technology organization, to include 3+ years of customer facing, and market research experience. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in fields e.g., structured information extraction, object detection, action recognition, image segmentation, spatiotemporal modeling (hybrid CNN/RNN). Ability to help define strategies for large, ambiguous product areas and help guide the teams on how to maximize impact of those strategies by using data and research to create effective execution and experimentation frameworks. Experience building and/or managing one to many relationships with partners, including leading negotiations to establish partnerships and developing customer value propositions. Ability to identify, map, and articulate ROI to leadership. Ability to construct complex technical and commercial proposals. Ability to work independently, manage engagements of varying size. Good communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Problem-solving abilities. Ability to work and lead autonomously, exercising sound judgement in selecting methods and techniques, to reach desired outcomes. Willingness to travel globally, for around 25% of the time. Ability to write reports and business correspondence and effectively present information. Knowledge of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) position, navigation and timing concepts, to include constellations and segments, navigation data, orbital parameters of space vehicles and GNSS reception challenges is preferred. Formal training in one or many of the following: computer vision, image processing, linear and non-linear programming, machine learning is recommended. Automotive simulation experience is a plus.
