Oversees the development and implementation of SDG&E's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) sustainability strategy for Operations Support. Develops a roadmap to address short-, medium- and long-term priorities associated with advancing and leading sustainability objectives for Supply Management, Facilities & Fleet Services.
Leads the development and implementation of an energy-industry leading supply chain sustainability program. Leverages market, technology and other data to develop business strategies in support of ESG goals. Collaborates with SDG&E Environmental Services team in support of SDG&E's Sustainability Strategy performance and SDG&E ESG metrics for reporting purposes. Lead company participation with leading trade organizations, such as the Electric Utility Industry Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance to help define industry best practices and position SDG&E as a leader.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develops, implements, and updates SDG&E’s Operations Support Environmental, Social and Governance Sustainability Strategy. This includes researching trends, technologies and business models; understanding environmental, operational, and customer impacts as well as regulatory implications; identifying, prioritizing and developing a roadmap of sustainability strategies; integrating other company business strategies; and adapting to internal and external circumstances as they evolve. Leads the development and implementation of an energy-industry leading supply chain sustainability program. Through phased implementation, the goal will be to empower SDG&E's suppliers to be partners in SDG&E's and California's ambitious climate priorities; enable suppliers to elevate their human capital and provide dignified and meaningful work across SDG&E's supply chain; and ensure that suppliers uphold the highest standards of integrity and resilience in the management practices governing our supply chain. Works closely with SDG&E Environmental Services team to inform, develops, drives and reports progress towards ESG goals and objectives. Identifies, develops and maintains analytical tools and other resources to support development of Operations Support Sustainability Strategy. Compiles and reports accurate data to support Sempra Corporate and SDG&E Sustainability reports. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance SDG&E’s Operations Support Sustainability Strategy include community partnerships, internships and other events and opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Business, environmental, sustainability, finance or equivalent experience. 10 years Experience in Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG), clean energy/technology, business consulting, finance or closely related field. Strong skills in leadership, strategy, teambuilding, and employee development, organizing, planning, controlling, coordinating, and delegating to effectively manage assignments and projects. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to network and influence. Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with the most senior levels. Strong grasp of the energy industry and SDG&E’s overall business operations and strategy; ability to translate knowledge into action plans and tactics. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with both internal personnel and external counterparties. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements associate with internal systems and procedures. Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate openly with others.
Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree Business, Law, Environmental/Climate. 2 years Supervisory experience.
