Position Summary:

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, The Truck Scheduler will lead the scheduling department by ensuring effective routes and excellent customer service is delivered. The Truck Scheduler will communicate with Huller Shellers, third party truck companies and the Receiving team management on a daily basis regarding work to be performed. This position will carefully document and enter all pertinent information into the company logs and will work within the company software to schedule and document.

Position Responsibilities : Schedule inbound trucks from third party trucking companies. Create Calendars in excel for customers and for internal overview of future work schedules. Prepare daily activity report(s) and submit to Receiving team for review. Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company. Assist with phones and administrative work. Must understand or quickly grasp almond varieties, procedures, process flows, and use information in decision making . Ensure shipments are combined based on their routes and timeline to minimize the number of trucks and drivers sent out. Assess situations, like closed roads and delays, and troubleshoot alternatives. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements: High School Diploma or GED is required. Two (2) years' previous experience in the trucking industry is required. Experience in dispatching is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong problem-solving skills are required. Will be required to communicate daily with drivers, customers and vendors in a respectful and professional manner. Communication will be in person, over the phone and email. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office, is required. Will be required to learn company specific programs and GPS monitoring. Excellent organization, time-management, and coordination skills are required. Strong problem-solving skills and desire to be a team player is required. Must be available to work weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays, flexible hours, and overtime. Prompt Should be able and willing to think creatively and outside the box to troubleshoot scheduling issues. Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
